Last week before Christmas Hols

Firstly on Monday we had a fun day by watching movie's and doing different things throughout the day.
On Tuesday and Wednesday we unfortunately had our tests, we had 5 all together and they were not too bad. Both days went by so fast!
Today all Transition Years went bowling as a treat! We went bowling in Newbridge and were divided up into teams of 6 or 7 with our friends. We all got 10 times to go and everyone enjoyed it! After bowling we were brought to Newbridge Whitewater Shopping Centre to do some shopping or get food in the food court. We got back to the school in time and everyone loved the day.
Thankfully we are all off school tomorrow and will not be back in til the 7th of January!
bye for now,

It was ballet for the Nutcracker and there was many ballerinas in it. The show lasted about an hour and a half and was enjoyable. Everyone in the show was brilliant at ballet and their costumes were lovely.
All the Transition Years loved the ballet and enjoyed the treat!

Junk Kouture Ending

Today Junk Kouture finally finished! Everyone was so happy as it had taken months to complete. A few people tried their full outfit on and it looked great!
Today we did all our jewellery and finished our headpiece. We also finished gluing pieces onto the skirt as they were falling off a bit. On the top we filled in the pink places with green paint and finished sewing.
At the weekend we will choose our song for the Fashion Show on Monday , try on my full outfit, practice my catwalk and practice my hair & make-up.
We will finish our speech for for catwalk and Ciara Molloy will read it out when I am walking.
All the Transition Years are looking forward to the Fashion Show and I cannot wait to see everyone's hard work on their outfit.

After that Orla talked to us for a while about our Report for our company. We then got to watch 2 little movies about body language , tone and other issues.
After everything we all got to go to the Food Court for lunch and met back up for our bus back up.
The day was very enjoyable and all of Transition Year are looking forward to selling our product!:)

Projects

This week has been very busy as we have had so much projects to do!
Technology: We have been working on a project in groups. The project is on Formulae 1 racing. Each member in the group has a role and we have to write 5 pages about it. We also have to design a few cars and they will send you back your car.
Junk Kouture: Everyone atm is in a rush with their projects as we all have to have it finished it in 3 weeks. My groups project is coming along well and we are very happy it. Hopefully we will get it finished as soon as possible.
Geography: This week we all have to have our Trip Around The World project and we were also divided into pairs to complete a project about one world. We must give the reasons why you would go to the country and make it appealing.
History: Our history project is due this Monday. I did my project on how the American government has changed over-time. I spent this week working on it each night and I am nearly finished it for Monday.
English: In one of our English classes we have been working on a mood board and we got to pass them around the class to see each persons board. Each board really showed how different and unique everyone is. Also in our other English class we have started a powerpoint on songs of different topics e.g love. The powerpoint must include text , images and music.
Mini Company: Unfortunately this week my group found out we couldn't sell the product we had planned from the start. We changed our idea to an eyebrow kit. The eyebrow kit will include many things and is starting to develop. We got permission and did our survey this week.

Mini Company Talk

Skyfall

The week has flown by as usual but this week the Transition Years something very exciting. We had planned all our work for the Naas Odeon Cinema where out Mini Company Talk was going to be held but unfortunately the woman Orla couldn't make it yesterday.
We were all seated in the cinema and about half 10 in the morning we got the news she wouldn't be able to make it and to our surprise we would be watching "Skyfall - James Bond" , the excitement throughout the audience was brilliant. The film was amazing with all the action in it etc. When leaving the cinema we also got a goodie bag which contained popcorn, randoms , a drink and a free Madagascar beaker. The day had gone very well and everyone enjoyed it. The staff from the cinema were very nice to let us watch us a movie and also give us a goodie bag! We are all so thankful for the day.

Fun Walk

Last Friday was our Annual Fun Walk. This year Transition Year students were the colour yellow. My class had chosen to do Yellow Lego , we would make our Lego box using cardboard and would stick toilet rolls onto our box for the Lego pieces. We chose the song Hey Ya and made up a dance for it. In class while practicing our dance worked out perfectly but unfortunately on the day the CD was started at the wrong time and we started too late. Also unfortunately we didn't win but were still happy enough. My class also had to guide the school on the walk. Our jobs were to stand at different points to show where to go.
Overall the day was great and everyone enjoyed the fun walk. Each year and class were also very good at their routines. The teachers involved in routines were very funny, especially Mr.O'C.

Mini Company

Last Friday all Transition Years went to Naas to the Odeon Cinema. At the cinema we viewed a slideshow about Mini Company. We also got into our brainstorming groups and came up with different idea's. Overall the day was a good day and the year had a great outing to Naas.
So far since last Friday we have all got into our groups , have came up with an idea we plan on doing for mini company and got our roles within our group. My role in my group is called the Company Secretary. One of the jobs I will have to do is collect and store any information we get out of the company. There is 5 people in my group altogether and hopefully our idea will work out.

Carlingford Day 2

On Tuesday the 18th of September it was the 2nd day and everyone was up at 8. Breakfast was first and then we all cleaned our rooms, packed our suitcases and left the room.
At the start of the day we walked to the challenge field and did the high ropes. Four people were strapped in and had to climb logs to get to the top of the 8th log , i got to the 5th log. It was very high and hard but it was fun at the same time. After the high ropes we got to do zorbin. Zorbin is when two people got in a massive ball and roll down the hill. Me and my friend Shannon were in a ball together and we had so much fun. It was scary going down the hill but we enjoyed it alot.
After the high ropes and zorbin we went back and got lunch.
The 2nd activity of the day was in the challenge field and we had to get into groups of 10. In your group you had to complete different challenges , if you completed them you got gems depending on the hardness of the activities.
It was finally time to leave and everyone was so sad. We all loved our instructors and loved the experience. We will miss our instructors and the activities we did! We all loved our challenge instructor Paddy!
I would like to thank Ms.L , Ms.B and Mr.K for bringing us to Carlingford as everyone had the time of their lives :)

P.S   SHOUTOUT TO RUTH THE BDAY GAAAAL

Carlingford Day 1

We all had an early start on Monday the 17th of September :) Everyone was very excited for the 2 days ahead of us and knackered at the same time.
We departed from Esso station at 7 o' clock and arrived at Carlingford for around half 9. We firstly got all our rooms and put our things away. Our first activity was a laser guns game. We were all in our gear for the game and my group had a blast playing the game.
Next was lunch and everyone was full by the end of it. Our 2nd activity of the day was kayaking. Everyone was freezing and we all had to get into wet wetsuits , it was horrible! We got into partners and all got used to kayaking. We stopped off at a cave and all got to put our head under a waterfall , apparently it adds one day to your life when you put your head under it for 10 seconds. By the end of kayaking we were all so sore.
After kayaking we headed back for dinner and unfortunately most people disliked the dinner.
Our last activity was called Night Blindness. We all were blindfolded in the forest in the pitch black! One person would lead you and everyone would put their right hand on the shoulder in front of them. The person in front of you would have to give you directions. I was 2nd in line with my friend Ciara in front of me , we had a great time and were scared where we were walking.

Results Night Bant

Finally the day of results came! Ty's got a lie in and were not in til half 12 :) Of course everyone was nerve-wrecking as we were waiting patiently! The time arrived and we all got into our base class from last year , in alphabetical order and I was near the front of course. I ripped open the envelope and scanned my results :)
I think that most people were happy with results and some were unfortunately sad , I was happy with most of my results and with one I was disappointed. I was disappointed with Technology as I got a B but I wanted my A as Technology is my favourite subject. I was very proud of my B in maths as I was expecting a C!
Next was our night out , me and my friends went to time and the night was great. Time was packed with Junior Cert students who were all happy with themselves :)
Overall the day was an amazing experience and I am very proud with my friends and myself for doing so well in the Junior Cert. We all deserved a night out!

Settling In

Can't believe it's already Friday, the week has flew by! Everyday  the days get better and everyone seems to be settling in great :)
We are doing a Junk Couture project at the moment with our friends and everyone is having fun making their outfit.
On Wednesday everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day as we had 3 workshops throughout the day. Our first workshop lasted an hour and a half , we learnt all about different things like etiquette, clothes , make up , skin, hair and more. The women who  did the workshop were very helpful to us and I enjoyed the workshop.
Our second workshop of the day was about development. We all learnt a lot of things and we all had a great time with each other.
Our last and final workshop for Wednesday was my favourite of the day. We had a positive party and everyone had a great time singing , dancing , learning about positive experiences & more:)
The week overall has been amazing and I am enjoying myself so much! I hope the year will also be amazing.

Bye for now,

TY Time!

It has only been two days of TY and i am already loving it ! The atmosphere with a new class, new teachers and more is great :) The thoughts of being in 5th year now are horrible , I would definitely not be mature enough for it.
I am looking forward to the next school year in TY and hopefully I will have an amazing experience throughout the whole year.
Results night is coming soon also and everyone is surely looking forward to get the results after all their hard work and to have a good night out with everyone! I hope everyone gets what they worked for.
Soon enough we will also be starting work experience , I am excited for this as it will be a different experience and everyone will get to see what work is really like. For my first work experience placement I will be going to a beauticians and I think I will enjoy it.

Bye for now ,
